Proptick ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"), headquartered in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled in a safe and responsible manner.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data when you access or use our website (proptick.in), our mobile applications for Android and iOS (the "PropTick app"), and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing or using the Platform, or by providing your personal data to us, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. Where required, we may seek your explicit consent for specific processing activities.

1Scope of Policy

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including but not limited to:

  • Buyers and renters
  • Property owners and landlords
  • Real estate agents, brokers, and developers
  • Visitors and general users

    • It applies equally to the website and the PropTick app. Where a practice applies to only one of them, we say so.

    "Personal Data" refers to any information that can identify an individual, directly or indirectly.

    2Personal Data We Collect

    A. Information You Provide Directly

    We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Personal Information: Name, mobile number, email address, city, and account login credentials. Your password is stored only as a secure hash and cannot be read by us.
  • Property Information: Property type, location details including an optional Google Maps link, specifications, pricing and rent period, images, amenities, and the contact name, mobile number and email address you provide for the listing.
  • Verification Documents: RERA registration number, RERA link and RERA certificate images that you choose to upload with a listing.
  • Enquiries: The name, mobile number, email address and message you submit when you enquire about a property, and a record of when you tap WhatsApp or Call on a listing.
  • Saved Properties: Properties you save, stored on your account when you are signed in.
  • Communication Records: Emails, messages, feedback, and support queries.
  • Other Information: Any additional details you choose to share.

    • B. Information Collected Automatically

    When you use our Platform, we may collect:

  • Usage Data: Pages and screens viewed, properties viewed and opened, search activity, and interactions such as taps on WhatsApp, Call, Enquire, List Property and Sign Up.
  • Technical Data: Device type, operating system, browser or app version, IP address, and a random visitor identifier stored on your device.
  • Location Data: Approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise location, and the PropTick app does not use your device's GPS.
  • Cookies & Tracking Technologies: On the website, to keep you signed in, hold your visitor identifier and measure use (see Section 4). The app does not use cookies.
  • Analytics Data: Collected through Google Analytics on the website and Google Analytics for Firebase in the app, as described in Section 4.
  • App Permissions: Camera and photo library, only when you choose to add photos to a listing, and only with your approval. The app does not request location, contacts, microphone or notification permissions.
  • Search Text: What you type into search, including natural-language "AI search", is processed to find matching properties and is not stored.
  • Photo Metadata: Photos you upload may contain embedded information such as the date taken or camera location. We do not read or use this information, and listing images displayed on the Platform are re-encoded copies from which it has been removed.

    • C. Information from Third Parties

    We may receive information from:

  • Publicly available sources, such as RERA registries, to verify listings
  • Service providers that process data on our behalf, such as analytics reports

    • We do not currently receive personal data from marketing or advertising partners or from third-party login providers. The Platform offers no social or third-party sign-in.

    3How We Use Your Personal Data

    A. Service Delivery

  • Account creation and management
  • Property listing, review and publication
  • Connecting users (buyers, renters, sellers, and agents) by publishing seller contact details on listings and delivering enquiries to sellers
  • Showing sellers how their listings perform, such as views and contacts received
  • Providing search results and, where offered, recommendations

    • B. Marketing and Promotions

  • Sending updates, offers, and promotional communications only with your consent. We do not currently send marketing emails or SMS.

    • C. Third-Party Engagement

  • Sharing your details with banks, financial institutions, or partners only if you expressly ask us to connect you with their services. The EMI calculator on the Platform runs on your device and sends nothing to us or to any lender.

  • Enhancing user experience and platform functionality
  • Conducting research, analytics, and performance tracking

    • E. Fraud Prevention and Security

  • Reviewing every listing before publication
  • Verifying users and listings
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, spam or misuse

  • Troubleshooting issues
  • Maintaining backups and system stability

  • Responding to queries, feedback, and complaints
  • Providing service-related notifications such as welcome and password-reset emails

    • 4Cookies, Analytics and Tracking Technologies

    We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Recognize users and improve experience
  • Analyze platform performance
  • Store preferences

    • Website: proptick.in uses local storage to keep you signed in and to hold your visitor identifier, and Google Analytics cookies (for example _ga) to measure use of the site. You may control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may impact functionality. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

    PropTick app: The app does not use cookies. It stores your sign-in token, saved properties and visitor identifier on your device. The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure use. Google receives an app-instance identifier, the screens viewed and actions taken, device and operating-system details, and a coarse location derived from a masked IP address. The app does not collect advertising identifiers and does not display advertisements. Uninstalling the app stops this collection.

    We do not use analytics data for advertising, and Google processes it on our behalf. How Google handles data from partner apps and sites is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

    5Sharing of Personal Data

    We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We may share your personal data with:

    A. Service Providers

    Vendors and partners who support platform operations under contract, limited to what they need to provide their service: hosting and database services (Emergent), image storage and delivery (Cloudflare), analytics (Google), email delivery for service messages, an AI language-model provider that interprets natural-language search text, and OpenStreetMap, whose map tiles and locality lookup are loaded when you view a property's location.

    B. Other Users

    To enable communication between buyers, renters, sellers and agents. Everything you enter in a listing, including its photos and the seller contact name, mobile number and email address, is visible to anyone using the Platform and may appear in search-engine results. When you enquire about a property, your name, mobile number, email address and message are sent to that property's seller. Sellers are independent of Proptick and are responsible for how they use your details.

    C. Third-Party Apps You Open

    Tapping WhatsApp, Call, Get Directions or a RERA link takes you to WhatsApp, your phone dialler, Google Maps or the RERA website. Their own privacy policies apply from that point.

    D. Financial Institutions

    Banks or financial partners only when you request related services (e.g., home loans).

    E. Legal Authorities

    Where required by law, court order or a lawful request, or to protect legal rights, safety or property.

    F. Corporate Transactions

    In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring, subject to this Policy.

    G. Professional Advisors

    Auditors, legal advisors, and consultants on a need-to-know basis.

    6Your Rights

    You may:

  • Access, update, or correct your personal data, in the app under Account or on the website under My Dashboard
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Delete your account yourself (see Section 7)
  • Remove a listing you posted at any time from My Properties
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Opt out of marketing communications

    • Requests can be made by contacting us at: admin@proptick.in. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first.

    Note: Some data may be required for core services, and withdrawal may limit access to the Platform.

    7Account Deletion

    You can delete your account at any time:

  • In the PropTick app: open Account, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
  • On the website: sign in, open My Dashboard and click Delete account
  • By email: write to admin@proptick.in from the email address or mobile number on the account, with the subject "Delete my account", or visit proptick.in/delete-account

    • Deleting your account permanently removes your profile (name, mobile number, email address, city and password hash), your saved properties, the enquiries you have sent, and the listings you have posted together with their photos and documents. Deletion is completed within 30 days, after which the data is also removed from backups.

    We may retain records we are legally required to keep, information needed to resolve a dispute or enforce our terms, and usage statistics that are aggregated or no longer linked to you.

    8Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely and processed primarily in India. Our service providers may also process data in the United Arab Emirates, the European Union and the United States, under contractual commitments to protect it to a standard consistent with this Policy.
  • Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, passwords are stored as hashes, and access is limited to staff who need it.
  • We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data.
  • Third-party processors are required to meet equivalent security standards.
  • No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

    • 9Data Retention

    We retain personal data:

  • As long as necessary to provide services
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To resolve disputes and enforce agreements

    • In practice this means: account details for as long as your account is active; listings until removed by the seller or by us, and up to 12 months afterwards in case of disputes; enquiries and contact records for up to 24 months; usage and analytics records for up to 26 months; server logs for up to 90 days.

    We may retain anonymized data indefinitely for analytics and improvement purposes.

    10Third-Party Links and Services

    Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including WhatsApp, Google Maps and RERA websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Users are encouraged to review their respective privacy policies.

    11Children's Privacy

    The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

    12Updates to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be effective upon publication on the Platform, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on the Platform or notify you by email.
